The Municipality of Leamington is advancing the next phase of improvements to Seacliff Drive East, continuing the long-term renewal of this important corridor. Building on work completed in 2022, this phase of the project will focus on Seacliff Drive East between Regatta Drive and County Road 33 to support safer, more reliable infrastructure for the community.

Current Construction Stage

The project is currently in Stage 1 of construction, which includes work along Seacliff Drive East from Regatta Drive to the west side of Seneca Road.

During Stage 1:

  • Businesses and properties between Erie Street South and Regatta Drive are accessed via Erie Street South and Seacliff Drive East.

  • Businesses and properties between Seneca Road and County Road 33 are accessed via County Road 33 and Seacliff Drive East.

  • Left turns from County Road 33 to Mersea Road 1 remain available during this stage.

Further notifications will be shared as construction progresses and work moves into future stages.

Importantly, this project is part of the Northeast Trunk Sewer initiative, a major infrastructure investment that will support Leamington’s growth for decades to come. With over $41 million in provincial funding, the project will upgrade essential underground services, help enable up to 6,500 new homes, and support future jobs and economic development, all while reducing reliance on aging infrastructure.

What’s Included in This Project

This Seacliff Drive East reconstruction project will deliver major underground and surface upgrades to improve safety, accessibility, and long-term reliability, including:

  • New sanitary sewers from Peter Avenue to County Road 33
  • New storm sewers from the Selkirk Drain to County Road 33
  • New watermain from Regatta Drive to County Road 33
  • New street lighting along the corridor
  • New roadway curbs
  • New concrete sidewalks
  • A new County-Wide Active Transportation System (CWATS) multi-use pathway

    Thank you for your question.

A roundabout will not be included in this project. Bevel Line will be realigned with Peter Avenue, and a new signalized intersection will be constructed at the intersection of Peter Avenue and Bevel Line.

Maps and renderings of the project are available in the Documents section.
