Consultation has concluded.

Project Update

We’ve completed all five of our 2022 playground replacements throughout the municipality. We hope you enjoy the great new spaces. Check out the pictures and videos below.

Playgrounds are an important part of the park experience for residents and visitors. They provide free physical and creative activities for children and their families. Playgrounds are designed to challenge and stimulate all children, regardless of their abilities. Inclusive outdoor play spaces allow for all children to play together, increasing understanding and integration.

Playground Replacements

We have replaced the following five playgrounds in 2022:

  • Scout Memorial Park
  • Kinsmen Baseball Complex
  • Eastside Park
  • Henry Park
  • Pearl Park

About the playground replacement process

When we replace play equipment, we consider available budget, maintenance, how to make the play equipment fun for everyone and comments from community members.

Playgrounds are replaced every 18-20 years, pending Council approval. If your local playground isn’t on our list, chances are, it’s not quite time for it to be replaced.
