Why has the Municipality of Leamington chosen to offer on-demand transit?
To continue to improve service for clients who use transit in the Municipality. The goal is to optimize resources in a way that will benefit clients.
What are the benefits for riders?
The Municipality anticipates the following benefits:
What are the differences between on-demand and regular service?
On-demand service is available by reservation only. It differs from regular transit in that the vehicles don’t follow set routes like Leamington Transit buses did. On-demand routes are based on the reservations received.
How will on-demand service change the way I use transit?
You’ll need to plan your trip in advance, at least 45 minutes but no more than seven days ahead of your desired departure time. Book your trip as soon as possible to make sure there’s room for you. You’ll also need to book your trip using the Blaise Transit mobile app, online at ride.blaisetransit.com or by calling the LTGO booking line at 519-325-5960.
You can’t simply show up at a bus stop and board a vehicle.
Why might the chosen stop be different from my usual stop?
The app selects stops based on a number of factors and can choose a different stop to make routes and customer service more efficient. The selected stops are within a walking distance of 500 metres.
Riders must follow the directions provided, as the stop selected by the app may change from one reservation to the next.
What happens if I have a mobility issue and can’t travel 500 metres?
You need to indicate this when you create your profile. The system will take this detail into account when processing the reservation and choose a stop as close as possible.
