Consultation has concluded
At its February 27, 2024, meeting, Leamington Council adopted the Fire Master Plan prepared by The Loomex Group for use as the guiding principles for future decision-making. The Plan outlines 32 recommendations that were based on analyses of several factors, such as current legislation, suggestions for updates to bylaws and agreements, suggested proactive changes to the organizational structure, and fire prevention and training programs.
The Municipality of Leamington engaged The Loomex Group to develop a Fire Master Plan for the Municipality. Master Plans are comprehensive long-range municipal planning documents that guide how a community's future growth and development will occur through investment over time. Master Plans often begin with an assessment of current conditions, and consider strategies for gradual improvement. Public consultation is an important part of the process.
The Fire Master Plan (Plan) will help to ensure our delivery of fire protection and related services keeps pace with development, technology, and continued growth in Leamington.
The Plan will also include a Community Risk Assessment that will paint a picture of local needs and circumstances and will be used to inform decision-making and establish service levels for our fire department.
This Plan will be guided by the following:
Public Education and Prevention,
Fire Safety Standards and Enforcement, and
Emergency Response.
